The small glacial lake of Roopkund an altitude of 5,029 meters (around 16,499 feet) has a rather grisly reputation. Roopkund is famous for the mysterious shallow lake of about 2 mts., with the edges covered with snow almost throughout the year. After the snow melts, skeletal remains which are believed to be 500-600 year old, many theories explain the findings but none seem satisfying. The lake is nestled amidst panoramic mountain scenery. The stories ranges all the way from that of the Goddess Nanda Devi cursing a presumptions royal couple, through misdirected conquerous seeking to entry lands beyond India, to the mundane explain that they are the remains of pilgrims killed by at avalanche. This somber stretch of water, 47 meters in diameter, rests beneath the peaks of Nanda gunti and Trishul. For much of the year it is surrounded by harsh black rocks, ice and snow. The trek to this ominous lake is, However, interesting a 21 kms drive takes you from Tliarali.
At a low 393 meters to 2,134 meter high Mandoli.From there Lohajang Pass is about 1.5 kms away. This is really where the trek begins, 12 kms will bring you to Wan at a high of 2,436 meters and another 12 kms to the beautiful Bedni Bugyal at 3,354 meters. The Bugyal’s green slopes are dotted with Shepherd’s huts and little shrines with pyramidal roofs. Minuscule brooks trackle into a pond which looks like a Scottish tarn. The best time of come here is last week of August to last week of October. You must have 8 days to trekking for Roopkund. It is a 40 km trek from road head.

Day 01 : Delhi-Rishikesh(230 KMS/06 HRS)
After breakfast drive to Rishikesh. Upon arrival in Rishikesh,you are met and transferred to your pre-booked hotel. Evening free to explore Holy Ghats & worthseeing places.Overnight at Hotel.
Day 02 : Rishikesh – Wan (250 km/8hr)
In the morning after breakfast pickup from hotel and drive to Wan (250 km/8 hrs) via the sacred river confluences at Devprayag, Rudraprayag and Karnprayag. Arrival at Mundoli (1750 mts) by evening. Dinner. Overnight stay.
Day 03 : Wan –Bedni Bugyal
Wan to Bedni 10 kms. Trek. Arrival at Bedni Lunch Dinner & Overnight stay.
Day 04 : Bedni bugyal-Bhaguvasa Bedni to Bhaguvasa. Arrival Bhaguvasa Trek 11kms. Establish to Camp at Bhagubasha Evening time free ,Dinner & Overnight stay.

Day 05: Bhaguvasa-Rupkund Trek-Bhagwawasa.
After breakfast trek from Bhagwawasa to Rukund Trek 05 kms. Arrival at Roopkund 4450 mr. Try to Attempt up to the Joragali Pass (4620 mt).(From there can be see view of Trishul & Nanda Ghunti peaks).Back to Bhagwawasa. Lunch,Dinner & Overnight stay.
Day 06 : Bhagwawasa-Bedni
Bhagwawasa to Bedni Lunch at day time. After lunch time free to explore Dinner & Over night stay.
Day 07 : Bedni – Wan-Srinagar 145/6hrs
Bedni to Wan Trek 10 kms. Arrival at wan Drive wan to Srinagar. Dinner & overnight stay.
Day 08 : Srinagar-Rishikesh 105 Km/3hrs

After breakfast Drive to Rishikesh. Arrival at Rishikesh. Lunch & Site seen Rishikesh Ganga Aarti And overnight stay at hotel
Day 09 : Rishikesh – Haridwar – Delhi
Departure transfer to the Haridwar railway station to board train for Delhi. Upon arrival in Delhi later transferred to International Airport to board flight for your onward journey.
